Kisaran, December 18, 2024 – Royal University continues to strengthen synergies with various parties to support the development of student and educator competencies. Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Royal University together with the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Asahan Regency held a signing ceremony Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) followed by Journalism and Media Workshop in the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities. This event was held at Royal University Campus 2 Hall.
This workshop features keynote speakers Mr. Sapriadi, S.Pd.I, Chairman of PWI Asahan Regency, who has extensive experience in the world of journalism. In his presentation, he explained the transformation of the media world in the digital era and the challenges that must be faced by professionals in the field of journalism.
"The digital era has brought about major changes in the way we access and deliver information. Journalists must be able to adapt to technology while maintaining integrity and credibility in delivering news," said Mr. Sapriadi.
The event began with a signing ceremony. MoU between Royal University and PWI Asahan Regency, by Chancellor of Royal University, Mrs. Wan Mariatul Kifti, S.E., M.M and Chairman of the PWI Asahan Regency, Mr. Sapriadi, S.Pd.I. This collaboration covers the areas of journalism development, training, and improving media literacy for students and lecturers.
In his remarks, the Chancellor of Royal University expressed his appreciation for this collaboration. "This collaboration is a strategic step for Royal University to broaden students' horizons about the world of media and journalism, while also answering the need for communication skills in the digital era," he said.
The workshop attended by students of the Law study program was interactive with a lively discussion session. Participants gained insight into the importance of digital literacy, the role of social media in building narratives, and practical tips for writing accurate and interesting news.
With this collaboration, Royal University shows its commitment to continue supporting students to be better prepared to face global challenges, especially in the world of communication and media in the digital era.
