Royal University Signs MoA with GEKRAF Asahan and Holds Seminar on Business Communication Strategy in Creative Industry

The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Computer Science, and Faculty of Economics and Law of Royal University signed an MoA with GEKRAF Asahan Regency and held a seminar on business communication strategies in the creative industry with speakers Didi Prasetyo and Candra Ridami Marpaung.

Kisaran, 22 Mei 2025 – Royal University expands its partnerships with industry through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) together National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAF) Asahan Regency. The signing took place at Royal University Campus 2 Hall and attended by the leaders of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Computer Science, and Faculty of Economics and Law.

This agreement is the basis for strategic cooperation in the fields of entrepreneurship development, creative industry training, research collaboration, and strengthening student competencies. This MoA is also expected to open up wider space for students to be involved in the creative economy ecosystem at the regional to national levels.

After the signing, the activity continued with Business Communication Strategy Seminar in Creative Industries, presenting two speakers from GEKRAF who provided inspiring material to seminar participants attended by students and lecturers from Royal University.

Mr. Didi Prasetyo, S.STP., M.AP, opened the seminar session by discussing the role of effective communication in supporting the growth of creative businesses. He emphasized the importance of understanding the audience, choosing the right communication media, and consistency in building a brand image. According to him, the creative industry needs actors who are able to convey the value and uniqueness of the product precisely in the midst of digital competition.

Meanwhile, Mr. Candra Ridami Marpaung, S.E, continued by discussing branding and marketing strategies in the creative world. He emphasized the importance of innovation and courage in utilizing digital platforms as a tool to reach a wider market. Candra also invited students to start building portfolios and networks early on as provisions in the creative business world.

The seminar received an enthusiastic response from participants who actively discussed and asked questions. This activity is real evidence that Royal University does not only focus on theory in the classroom, but also encourages its students to understand the dynamics and real challenges in the industrial world, especially in the rapidly growing creative economy sector.
